I found a cassette mixdown of this tune that came right off of Jim Parr's ADATs - pre mastering. It's clearer and warmer than the version that ended up on Vineyard Sounds III, and considering Peter Simon never even sent us a CD of the compilation album, the old warbly cassette was all we ever had. So here it is souding better than it ever has with still a touch of Abba in the double tracked vocals that Jesse and I had never intended to let them use... With Someone - by Jesse and Todd - written for our cousin Kelly's wedding in 1996.

This song is the newest one that Don and I have been working on, and IS IN NO WAY COMPLETED. The drums aren't even real drums. They are samples played off the keyboard for writing purposes. Don's read drums will take this song up about three notches for sure. Think of this recording as a bunch of scribbles on a napkin. We are really happy with the direction that this demo is headed, and I think this will be one of the strongest cuts on the upcoming chalk CD. This recording is the result of 2 days of recording in Don's studio, and the vocals are largely initial ideas as they came to me during the session. Check it out.

This is a live performance of Rut, written in 1994 by Jesse P. Howard. This video is from the Pioneer Square Juice and Java restaurant, and it was more than likely the first live performance of Rut. Hugh Sutton joins us on Melodica, and Kevin Kilmartin was on the drum kit. If you look closely, you can see Don Gunn sitting off to the right on the mixer. It's a fun early version - and a glimpse of things to come from the Organic Family 1990's Archives.

This is a live performance of Fair Play, written in 1994 by Jesse, Jesse, Todd and Courtney Hudak. This is the only live version that had Jesse Moore singing lead on the choruses, and the only time we didn't invite a guest up on stage to do the tune with us. This is from the Crocodile Cafe in Seattle, on January 25th, 1995. Aaron Murray was mixing the house sound that night, and this is a board tape.

This is a live performance of Our Last Great Lives, written in 1993 by Jesse Howard, played the last time Mobile Home appeared at the Crocodile Cafe in Belltown, Seattle, WA. The show was on January 25th, 1995. This was one of the only times it was played in a live show, and features a new piano part by Jesse Moore, and Kelly Brown on Conga. Some time after this performance, Jesse arranged a somewhat shorter version of the tune with only one outro section, and one final chorus. Aaron Murray was on the mix. This is a board tape.
